The Ice Queen

The Ice Queen by Alice Hoffman. A woman loses her mother when she was young. She has never really dealt with this and becomes a loner. One day she utters an idle wish to be struck by lightning - and her wish is granted. This event marks the beginning of her struggle to find herself and deal with her loss. A powerfully poignant story of loss, love, and redemption. A Reader's Corner highly recommended read.

Ratings: 11th grade - 10 out of 10 - P (profanity) - AC (mature thematic content) - S (non graphic sexual references).
