Abduction is by Peg Kehret. Six-year-old Matt is tricked into leaving school with a father he has never known. He finds himself alone and headed to an unfamiliar place with an unstable and selfish father. His step-sister, Bonnie, must do everything in her power to find her brother. A very telling story about how reluctant adults are to listen to children when they ask for help and the possible consequences of not getting involved. The ending is cheesily happily-ever-after, but it is the ending you wish for in all these kinds of cases.
