Call It Courage

Call it Courage is by Armstrong Sperry. When he was three a Polynesian boy named Mafatu, now 15 years old, was nearly killed when his mother drowned. He now has a phobia of the ocean. He must learn to conquer his fear. He goes off alone to another island and finds the courage within him to survive and return home. Sperry, who had traveled throughout the South Pacific, apparently based his story on an old Polynesian story. Boys will enjoy this short tale.
