Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo is by Obert Skye. Leven is 14 and lives in Oklahoma with his mother's half sister and her wretched husband. They never wanted Leven and always make sure he knows it. Then he learns about Foo, a place created to make dreams and hope possible, and Leven is the key to finding the gateway to Foo. Together with Clover, a cat-like sidekick, and Winter, a girl with powers of her own, Leven must find the gateway and save our world and Foo from the evil Sabine and his shadows. An interesting start to a promising series.
